My subject is Palm Springs.

I’m drawn to the places and things around me that are seldom noticed. Glimpsed fleetingly and soon forgotten. Or perhaps not seen at all, only felt, like a passing shadow.

I want to trigger a snap of recognition in the viewer. Not of sites and objects, per se, but of feelings. To recall certain qualities of day or night, light or darkness, sound or silence, hot or cold. Ultimately I hope to approximate in two dimensions a lived experience, a sense memory restored.

Originally a New Yorker, I moved to Palm Springs in 2011. Prior to that I spent most of my adult life working in advertising while pursuing art activities out of a studio in Brooklyn’s D.U.M.B.O. arts district. I’ve exhibited at the National Academy of Design in New York as well as at gallery venues in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Hudson Valley and, now, Southern California.
